Income earned overseas for 12 straight months. I know I qualify for federal tax exemption up to a certain amount. But I started earning this income April 2012 to current so if I were to file a standard year tax, I won't qualify for exemption since I don't meet 330 days out of 365 days for the year 2012. Is the fiscal year filing the way to go? Is this applicable to my situation? What is the best way to file - if you understand my situation and can clarify/give me answers, can you please provide a step-by-step instruction? Thank you so much for reading.
