Open Question: Can I become a certified Dental Hygienist without enrolling into any of the college courses?

I’m a dentist from Venezuela now living in Florida, I can’t work as a dentist in the states unless I take several different tests and classes, which I don’t really feel like doing now. In the mean time I was wondering if I could just get the Dental Hygienist certification and get a job. Would my abroad dental degree help to become a hygienists, can I just go apply and take the test? I would really love to know what my options are, thank you very much for your help.
